Chinese restaurants in the United States range from steam-table lunch counters to white-tablecloth Cantonese seafood halls, and most fall somewhere in between: a laminated menu, a lunch special board, and combo plates priced a few dollars below the dinner menu. Ordering by number off the menu is normal and speeds things up, especially at takeout counters. Family-style ordering, where a table shares several dishes with rice rather than each person getting an individual entree, is standard at sit-down spots and usually cheaper per person. Many neighborhood restaurants are cash-preferred or charge a small card fee, so it is worth asking or checking the door before you order. Delivery apps cover most areas, but calling the restaurant directly is often faster and avoids the markup.
Hours are published for 7 days a week. The most common schedule is 11:30 am–10 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is (630) 283-0932. Schaumburg is in Illinois, in the Midwest, where summers are warm, winters are cold and snowy, and most errands are done by car; businesses keep steady year-round hours with the usual holiday changes. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Schaumburg follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Shabu-You is a fun place to treat everyone to Japanese hot pot. We were greeted and seated right away. Our friendly waiter Alex made it super easy and guided us thru the ordering process on our phone. Alex made the whole experience a lot of fun and checked on us often. They had a huge variety of Wagyu meat cuts and several broths to select from. All the meats were freshly sliced, presented on chilled platters and easy to work with. The orders came out fast. They had over 15 different sauces to pick from and the greens bar was nicely stocked with common and unique veggies. They had plain, egg and kelp ramen noodles yo add to your broth as well as udon. We liked the shrimp as well as the fried Chicken Nanban & Karaage. The sushi was ok. The warm bar had sautéed asparagus, pizza (for the kids), Takoyaki, beef sukiyaki, curry and other items. Desert bar was fresh fruit items, self service waffle iron to coincide with matcha, vanilla or twist ice cream. All in all it’s a fun place to dine and there is something for everyone to enjoy!

For weekdays it all you can eat with no time limit. Weekends is 2 hours. Beyond the all you can eat hotpot, they offer unlimited gyudon beef bowl, curry sauce with rice. Japanese pizza, ramen noodles, all kinds of veggies and tofus. If that not enough? there are many choices of dipping sauce, fresh fruits and dessert with ice cream. Unlimited soda fountain, tea and juices. For seniors over 55 years old, it’s 10% off. But there also a mandatory tips? Since it mandatory why call it tips? Just roll that into the actual bill, it’s kind of fault advertising on the meal cost. Tip should be what we think the thank you amount should be. 😡

As someone who’s a big foodie and loves AYCE spots, I hate to say it—but this was one of the most mid hot pot experiences I’ve had. The service was genuinely kind and attentive, no complaints there. But the food just didn’t hit. The beef portions were really small (only about 2 slices per plate), which was disappointing for an AYCE place. Also, the sauce bar was… confusing. Seeing things like steak & burger sauce, buffalo wing sauce, and black pepper sauce at a hot pot restaurant felt off. It didn’t feel authentic or what you’d typically expect from a hot pot spot. (There’s also no sesame sauce) We’re visiting and not familiar with the area, but in hindsight, the low 4-star rating probably should’ve been a sign. Not a terrible experience overall, but definitely not somewhere I’d go out of my way to return to. TLDR: Food 1/5 Service 5/5!

Food: 3/5 (Food was okay, but very fresh!) Service: 5/5 (Service was great!) Atmosphere: 5/5 (Atmosphere was clean and inviting) Great experience at Shabu-You Japanese Wagyu Hot Pot! This restaurant gives BIG, as you have a wide variety of fresh vegetables, meats, and many broths. Located in Schaumburg, IL, the restaurant offers a fun and unique experience for the kids and adults and have attentive service. Very cool restaurant! The food was okay. I love there's many broth options, sauce options, and variety of veggies. I wasn't a fan of the meat, but the sushi wasn't bad and the experience of having a robot bring the food ordered off the app was cool! I was a little bummed about the affogato not being available, but the experience was great! The service was top notch! Loved how patient the server was, loved how he walked us through the menu, how clear he was about the experience, and how often he checked on us. Service was exceptional! The atmosphere was beautiful and clean. Loved the decor of the culture, how fully stocked and clean the buffet was, and how clean the bathroom was. Very inviting and clean environment! Free parking in the spacious parking lot. Price is a little

First time trying a hot pot place, there was a few things that could have been explained better by our waiter but nevertheless, we ended up figuring things out as the lunch progressed. The food was delicious. It's a buffet style, so there's many options to choose from. The place is clean and kept organized. Service was fast. I enjoyed the Korean broth with beef, chicken and wagyu slices. Their matcha soft-served ice cream was delicious. They had fresh fruit, watermelon juice, and a broad selection of teas.
